Effect -of-Acute Carbon Monoxide Poisoning on Hepatic Glycogen Granules in Rats

Abstract
This experimental studies were carried out to determine the¢¥ quantitative content of hepatic glycogen granules with acute -carbon monoxide poisoning: in rats.
The experimental animals were .poisoned with 0.1%, 0.25% . and 0.5% of - carbon monoxide for 5 .minutes to 24 hours.
The following results were-observed;
1. The-hepatic glycogen granules -were decreased moderately for 60 minutes to 8 hours, and decreased severely at 12 hours and 24 hours; in 0.1% CO-poisoning.
2. The moderately decreased glycogen granules were revealed for 30 minutes to 2 hours in 0.25% CO
poisoning. The glycogen granules were severely decreased in 4 hours.
3. In 0.5% CO-poisoning, the glycogen granules were decreased moderately for 30 minutes to 60 minutes.
4 The decreasing time of hepatic glycogen granules was gradually shortened by high concentration of carbon monoxide.
